Please share widely! *** The Stanford Khmer Association is proud to host our 5th annual Cambodian Rising Education Weekend (CREW) from April 17th through April 19th, 2020! CREW is a free higher education outreach program for Khmer high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to learn about college admissions. Accepted applicants will live on campus throughout the weekend and attend workshops on the applicat...ion process (essays, standardized testing, etc.), financial aid & scholarships, cultural identity, and more! Additionally, they will shadow college classes, tour Stanford, and participate in social/bonding activities. Throughout this experience, participants will get an inside look into what life at college is like and gain access to the tools they need to apply to college, as well as a lasting network of mentors and mentees. Living accommodations and meals will be provided as attendees will be hosted by members of SKA. Transportation may be provided as well; more info on this to come! Khmer language will be taught at Stanford beginning this academic year as SPECLANG125A! The class will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:20AM-11:20AM as a 4 unit course taught through video by Frank Smith, whose information is on the UC Berkeley faculty page here: sseas.berkeley.edu/people/faculty/frank-smith
