Patriot Day is observed as a National Day of Service and Remembrance in memory of those lost on September 11, 2001 in New York City, Arlington, Virginia and Sha...nksville, Pennsylvania. "God of love we place in your loving arms the thousands of innocent lives that were lost on that unforgettable morning of September 11, 2001. We also remember the courage of the countless men and women who put their lives at risk in order to rescue, alleviate and bring solace to the afflicted." We will always remember.

Thank you to our Legacy Families! Since graduating from St. Vincent’s Elementary school in 1988, James attended DVC and played one season of football before heading off to San Diego State University. He graduated from St. Mary’s College with a degree in Business Management. James is currently working as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch, in Napa, CA. The Zambrano family has remained involved with the St. Vincent Parish through the years. Now James and his wife Rosa, have a son Mateo who is a First Grader at St. Vincent’s. He fondly remembers playing on the school blacktop, all of the wonderful teachers-Dominican Sisters-Fathers and making lifelong friends with his fellow Saints Alumni! Go Saints!

Legacy Family # 3. We are so appreciative of all our Legacy Families. I began my journey as a St. Vincent Ferrer Saint in 1977 as a second grader. I loved (and still do) my second grade teacher, Mrs. Katie Roach! I had a blast playing dodgeball every day at recess and before there were Sock Hops, we had Jr High Activity Nights. Those were fun times and soon enough it was 1984 and it was time to graduate. I went on to the all girls, St. Vincent High School. It was a special... experience and as I walk through the halls now, I still remember where my locker used to be and where we would hang out between classes. Our class was unique, we would become the first coed class to graduate from St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School in 1988! I went on to college and after graduating, I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. Every time I came home, I would make it to mass at St. Vincent. My job would end up bringing me back to the Bay Area and in time, my future husband and I made Vallejo our home. I always knew I wanted my kids to go to SVFS. It has always been a loving and nurturing community. We have been blessed to send our kids here from preschool on. Chase just graduated in May and is at SPSV and now Maile is a middle schooler! We want to continue our legacy in the Vincent Ferrer community. It is full of history, diversity and most importantly, love and support for each other and our children. See more
