Cataract is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States. If not treated, cataracts can lead to blindness. In addition, the longer cataracts are left untreated, the more difficult it can be to successfully remove the cataract and restore vision. During Cataract Awareness Month in June, the American Academy of Ophthalmology reminds the public that early detection and treatment of cataracts is critical to preserving sight. Contact us today if you would like to discuss diagnosis and treatment options.
January is National Eye Care Month, a time when we bring awareness to the promotion of healthy vision. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approximately 14 million people in the United States aged 12 years and older have visual impairment.

Meet Ferdinand Monoyer 1836-1912. He was a French Ophthalmologist and is the inventor of the Monoyer Chart for testing visual acuity. He inserted his name in the chart; reading upwards on both ends, but ignoring the first line, the name "Ferdinand Monoyer" can be seen.
We hope you had a fun and safe Halloween.
