Church Service, Last Unction Rite and Internment of Archpriest Fr. Zaven Demirjian As we had informed the faithful, Archpriest Fr. Zaven Demirjian, a long-time ...servant of Christ, our Lord, and a merited priest of the Armenian Apostolic Church entered his eternal rest. Archpriest Fr. Zaven Demirjian’s Last Unction Rite and Burial Service will be held on October 21 at St. Peter Armenian Church in Van Nuys. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. The celebrant will be His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. His Eminence will also perform the Last Unction Rite. It is the wish of the family that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Peter Armenian Church. The donations will be allocated to the restoration of Holy Savior (Ghazanchetsots) Cathedral in Shushi, Artsakh (which was recently shelled.) Blessed is the memory of the righteous. A second chartered cargo flight is expected within days carrying a further 40tons of humanitarian aid. Both flights are made possible thanks to a group of generous donors. A team of medical professionals including trauma surgeons are also expected in Armenia imminently to support their local counterparts and provide much needed relief.
