Spotlight is preparing for our REOPENING! You can help support our mission to provide Tuition Free classes for kids in our community that would not have access to arts education otherwise. Our first fundraiser of 2021 is this ART SALE hosted by our long time supporter Pinot's Palette. Please join us as we raise the funds needed to pick up where we left off in 2020.

All I want for my Birthday is for the kids in our Spotlight Arts programs to have access to the arts they so desperately need. Arts education benefits students in several critical ways, improving students' mental health, self-confidence, and life skills. Creativity promotes identity development, helping students find their ‘place’ in this crazy world. We receive messages and calls from students and parents every week. This pandemic is affecting their mental health. We want to... help. We want to welcome new kids who are struggling right now! 8 years ago, we created a space for kids to express their authentic self in an understanding encouraging environment and among supportive peers. The classes are free. The administration staff works pro-bono and our generous community sponsors and donors pay for the materials. This inclusive environment has seen hundreds of kids ages 3-18 flourish. The testimony of our graduates further confirms the value of what we provide to the community. In March we had to abruptly close the doors mid-session for what we thought would be a quick "flatten the curve" delay before resuming as usual. Soon we would be forced to cancel our recital and then our 9th Summer Camp session. Our fall fundraiser was canceled. Our winter fundraiser has now been canceled. We are currently working on a Covid-19 compliant relaunch campaign for 2021. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and execute new & safe ways to engage our students. I am asking my friends, family and even those I have never met to donate in honor of a child who needs support, understanding, positive engagement and encouragement. Be the change. Facebook pays all the processing fees for you, so 100% of your donation goes directly to the nonprofit.

Camp Week 1 Now Enrolling!!! Our camps are very limited (10-15 students) to maintain distance and conform to new sanitation protocol. All 4 June weeks are available for registration now.

In anticipation of Phase 2 openings we are unveiling a new partnership with Pinot's Palette for Summer Camps!!! These camps are intended to provide childcare and as such will be Covid-19 restricted to keep our students safe and healthy. Elementary age camps are open for registration now with only 10 spots available per week. To register you must purchase a spot on the Pinot's Palette Valencia website under the Events tab. Teen camps will be announced soon for Jr. High and High School aged students. Please use Facebook messenger to ask questions.

Hey Spotlight friends and family! Check it out... we are currently planning some short session classes to get our youth back to class SAFELY as soon as possible. Soroptimist International of Valencia is hosting this amazing online fundraiser so that we make up for cancelled Spring fundraisers. PLEASE share the post and support their efforts. Together we can re-build what was lost in the past 4 months. The show must go on!!! <3

Hey everyone! Bored yet? Check out our Spotlight Arts Center sponsor Pinot's Palette's facebook page!!! They are now offering Virtual Classes so they can survive the hardship of having to close. When you sign up the supplies are delivered to you! What a great thing to do with your kids AND support a local business at the same time.

Following the direction of the school districts and the concerns of parents, we are postponing all classes effective immediately. We will reevaluate during our Spring Break April 6-10. Recital will also be postponed and will not have a plan or details until we know how the next 2 weeks will play out. While there is legitimate concern, facebook and news outlets are known to spread false and unverifiable information. Did you know that there is a place in SCV for all kids ages 3-18 to take TUITION-FREE Dance, Music, Acting and Art classes? It's so true! Spotlight Arts Center is a nonprofit organization started by parents and supported by local businesses and generous local donors. Hundreds of SCV kids have been taking classes... for FREE... every year since 2012! In 2019 we partnered with Pinot's Palette and are now able to offer even more classes at our Granary Square location. Our classes are taught in a community, non-compete environment by local artists and working professionals. Please help us reach more families who could benefit from program! Time to order your shirts for RECITAL!!! Tiny classes need a green shirt, regular classes need a plain white shirt and teens wear the ones with red sleeves. Feel free to order extra shirts for the family!
