It's 27F at Lake Tahoe this morning, while on the coast I have 35F under mostly clear skies. We will have clear skies all day in fact. I recorded .65" of rainfa...ll, bringing the 3 day storm total to 2.82". Another 3 day rain event rolls back on scene tomorrow, and it looks like another good one. So far we have clearing skies for later next week, we'll see. Power finally came back for much of the valley yesterday and good thing as it is slightly colder with 34F under partly cloudy skies, although some areas remain out. Travel to the Sierra might be ok later today, always check ahead before going up. This next system is warmer so I am not sure about heading up there this weekend ? The winter storm warnings for California are expiring this morning, while they are still in effect for Nevada & Idaho. Scattered rain & snows are located mostly from the Rockies to the Pacific.

with temps in the mid 30's I sure hope these folks are bundled up, a commercial boat heading out at 5am, and then another boat 10 minutes later, and the 3rd boat is a smaller one at 6am

It's raining and temps are a moderate 45F on the coast this morning. No snow or new power outages so far thankfully. I have .21" of rainfall this morning. Today... will be a mix of sun & showers before clearing on Friday. Showers are forecast for Saturday then another system Sunday & into next week. So far it's looking dry after that, we'll see. In the valley this morning it's a colder 38F under cloudy skies. Power is still out for many areas in the valley, but slowly coming back on. Once again forget about going to the Sierra today, maybe later tomorrow but you had better check road & travel conditions first. Winter storm warnings are posted in California, Nevada, North Carolina & Virginia today. Add Blizzard warnings for California as well. Scattered rain & snow for much of the west from border to border.

I have a foggy 52F ( have not said that in a while ) this Saturday morning on the coast. Along with a healthy .85" of rainfall. Rain should be clearing today th...en another shot of rain tonight and tomorrow, more clearing on Monday. Light rain is forecast for Tuesday the a bigger system for Wed & Thur. Whew..... A much cooler 44F under cloudy skies to start the day in the valley. There are winter storm warnings post from Texas into Michigan today but the satellite sure does not show it ? Rain in the west, the Rockies, the plains and the east also. A busy weather day, eh ?

I had clear skies all night but we have full cloud cover at 5am with 41F this Friday morning on the coast. Light rain should arrive by midday then on & off rain... all weekend. It's looking dry for Monday then rain is forecast every day after that through Friday. It's still clear in the valley with a much cooler 32F so far. Snow amounts in the Sierra are expected to be well under a foot at least early on. There is rain turning to snow from Texas into the Great Lakes. Winter storm warnings are posted in New Mexico & Michigan. Lots of cloud cover west of there.

Rain is returning later Friday & through the weekend. Maybe a break on Monday then more rain for much of next week is forecast. It's even colder in the valley with 33F also under clear skies. Rain heading there also of course. A mostly quiet day across our country with rain in the southwest and winter storm warnings in New Mexico of all places. Scattered clouds up through the Rockies.
