Oh my gosh, I should have started my yoga classes when I had a mini farm and baby goats. I can see why Goat Yoga is such a hit. Baby goats do make you smile with their antics.
Yoga class for Ranch Bernardo High Varsity Volleyball Team is awesome. I am privileged to teach yoga to these adventures young men who wanted to increase their volleyball skills through yoga. I specialize in Yoga for Young Athletes. From the beginning of my yoga teacher training in 2013 I knew that I wanted to reach out to young athletes because yoga can reduce the risk of injury, increase sports performance and help manage stress. Between going to school and studying, competing at high school or club level sports, and there is a huge amount of stress involved in the busy lives of our youth. Yoga can help in all areas of fitness, academic and mental fatigue. Savasana also known as final rest pose is always the students favorite yoga pose.
Today was the a very special day for Maria. Not only is it her birthday, but she was also attuned to Reiki Level 2 and is a full fledged Reiki Practitioner at her very own Reiki Studio! Congratulations Maria! Reiki is an energy healing practice that is passed on from Master to student.

Please welcome Karen Haub and her daughter Natalie, the newest family to OlympicKicks, Master Park's USA Taekwondo. Karen and Natalie are in the TaekwonYoga class, this is a new fusion class started this summer for women's self defense plus yoga. Taekwondo helps build strong families. Classes are Thursdays 9:30 to 10:30 am.

Congratulations to all the new belt graduates. It's an honor to be part of Master Park's studio and learning the national self defense of Korea, and reconnecting to an important part of the culture of my birth.
I earned my white belt from Master Park at USA Tae Kwon Do Studio. Master Park and I are teaming up to bring a fusion class of Women's Self Defense+ Yoga starting this summer.

We are a society that sits a lot. We sit when are studying, driving, eating and the list is endless. Siting causes the psoas muscle, the major muscle that connects the upper body to the lower body and runs down the front line of the body becomes shortened. This shortening creates stress and pain in the lower back and legs. Yoga can help relieve the pain with poses that help to lengthen the psoas muscle. Gentle yoga stretches are easy to do and helps to relax the body. Gentle Yoga class is offered Thursdays 5:15pm through SD Parks and Rec 4S Ranch Recreation register at http://reservations.sdparks.org/registrations/programs.asp
Yoga in the Park first day was such a huge success. These ladies prove that gentle yoga can deliver a full body workout and reduce stress while being accessible to most people's fitness levels. Being able to connect with nature, feel the sun on ones face and feel the breeze against skin adds a level of connection that is unique to outdoors yoga. My heart is filled with gratitude at being able to be part of the yoga community and taking yoga outdoors.

I love teaching children and having the opportunity to teach the 2/3 grade span 2 classes a week at Design39Campus gives these kinds of results. Children are engaged, having fun and learning body awareness.
Teaching kids at Design39Campus has been one of the most fulfilling yoga experiences to date. I love how much the children work at learning their poses. Children and adults really arn't that much different when teaching yoga if you are able to breakdown the pose into small pieces and use words they understand. This is a class for the 2/3 grade span.
Yoga in the Park returns for the second year 4s Ranch Sports Park. Along with Kids yoga and Adult yoga taught by Penni we are adding a new class called Broga that is a guys only class led by Thomas. It's nice to see scientific feedback that yoga for children helps with decreased stress and academic improvident. But teaching nearly 80 youth twice a week in a school has taught me that children want to do yoga. The first week of a new group is always challenging with being able to sit still and just focus on breathing even for 1 minute. Savasana, the final resting pose at the end of a class can seem like torture for some kids. But as each class goes by, the students really look forward to have 5 whole minutes to themselves, to be quiet and rest. The ability to become mindful and at peace with oneself to me is the greatest gift I can give a student.
I love teaching yoga to kids! Each week 80 kids from grades 2-7 take 2 classes a week for their MiM Minds in Motion class.

My new banner is up at 4S Ranch Sports Park in front of the softball field. I was told that 3,000 people walk into the sports complex weekly. I walked into this same area in May to look for an email where I could send my idea of yoga in the park for my community and 5 months later my yoga program is up and running. Ardha Chandrasa Half Moon has been my nemesis for years. This pose is a work in progress but by taking small steps to refine my understanding of how half moon feels in my body, I am making progress.
