One day very soon I will be invited to guest speak at Facebook, Twitter, McKesson, Pinterest, Facebook, YWCA, Safeway, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and countless others. I will be invited to speak about Power and Empowerment in Organizations.

Defining moment. On April 26, 2019, I will be speaking at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area gala. The speech topic is Igniting Potential. I stepped away from an uninspiring career in accounting. After more than 16 years, I felt stuck. Few opportunities of advancement came my way. I’m a single mom and I aspired more for my family. To further my career, I went back to school enrolling in financial accounting. I chewed off a mouth full when I enrolled in two other c...ourses. I was flat broke and I couldn’t afford books or supplies. Financial aid was 2 months late! To add to the challenge, I was diagnosed with ADD. During this time, I served on two different PTA boards, and started my business SureFire Expressions. I wanted to get paid. For more than two decades, I’d been giving speeches, leading workshops, and helping individuals. I’ve almost lost everything a few times. I keep going because I believe I’m living my life on purpose. I’m doing what God designed me to do. I’m alive when I’m empowering people. Helping my clients become manificent presenters. I’m living my live’s dream. I’ve been successful. I’ve been blessed So here I am preparing for my BIG SHOT. I feel like my ancestors would be proud. My children sure are.

I love my little girl Amy. I’m grateful God blessed me to be Amy’s mommy. Her dimply smile melts my heart. I’d give her the moon if I could! So when Amy is upset I do whatever I can to help her. Today Amy wasn’t smiling. No dimples. No sparkle in her eyes. My mother’s heart knew something deeply concerned my little girl. She cried out in anguish. Poor thing nearly fell over from the heaviness on her heart. She cried , I’m tired, I can’t make everyone at school happy. I can...’t make everybody happy. She couldn’t stop crying. How many times have you had to remind yourself that YOU can’t make other people happy? I told my warm-hearted daughter that she doesn’t have the power to make everyone happy. I added, you have the power to make yourself happy. Happiness is an INSIDE JOB. That means you, determine your happiness. You control what you think about. If you think you’re stupid, then you’re stupid. The universe will give you exactly what you think. I don’t know about you but I think I will have an abundance of wealth. I think I will have more opportunities than I can handle. Ask yourself, what do I think?
