First of all, Happy Labor Day Weekend! Hope you all stay cool and safe during this time as summer starts to come to an end. We've put together a few tips for you guys about how to keep your glasses from fogging up while wearing a mask since masks are the new normal. 1. The most obvious fixes would be to either adjust your glasses to sit a little higher on the nose so the air has somewhere to travel -OR- adjust or tighten your mask around the nose area so you create a better s...eal and prevent the air from flowing up toward your eyes. 2. Some people have had good luck with using a kleenex or a cloth underneath their mask by the nose area. This blocks or helps absorb some of the air and moisture from reaching your glasses and eyes. 3. Rinse/wash your glasses lenses with a mixture of soap and water, wipe the excess with a clean microfiber cloth, and then let the lenses air dry. This can help leave a thin layer on the lenses that creates an anti-fog barrier. 4. There are a number of different products available such as anti-fog wipes or sprays that can be used to repel moisture. Please do any research necessary before buying products you are unfamiliar with. 5. Lastly, a quick fix that might not be for everyone is the option of switching to contact lenses. Contact lenses are a good alternative to glasses and won't fog up while you are wearing a mask in public spaces. As always, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to call our office. As reported by the American Optometric Association on April 24th, the CDC has lifted their restrictions on routine eye care. Starting May 4th we will be back to normal hours and practicing full scope comprehensive eye care including routine eye exams. Please wear a mask to the office and any other protective equipment you deem necessary and our staff will be wearing PPE and taking strict sanitation measurements to protect your health and safety. Thank you for supporting us!

After much though and due to recommendations by the CDC we will be postponing all routine eye exams for the rest of March. Our office hours are now shortened to 9-1 during that time as well. We will still be open to emergency patients, glasses and contact lens dispenses, and answering the phone lines. If you have any questions please give us a call.
