It’s easy to see possibilities It’s even easier to see problems. It’s difficult to execute, and execution is everything!

The 12U Outlaws had a great weekend playing in their first tournament as a team! On Saturday, the boys took game one 13-3 against High Five BB. In game two, they gave up seven runs in the first. However, they battled back, but ultimately lost by six runs to North Valley BB. ... After seeding 3rd for Sunday’s bracket play, the boys came out swinging and won by a mercy rule against U-Town BB, featuring a HR blast. In game two, the boys faced tough competition in the Chico Mavericks, giving up the lead on two occasions. However, strong defense, hard pitching, and back to back HR bombs gave them the win after an extremely competitive game that got the whole tournament’s eyes! Heading into the gold bracket championship, the boys were tired and fell apart as North Valley took the gold. However, they finished with pride, held their attitudes together, and tipped their hat to play another day as they went home with silver medals around their necks. Go Outlaws!!!!

Back to these core beliefs! The capstone, where it all starts, is DEVELOPMENT. Most competitive programs miss this key step, and you can see it when they play the same kids in the same positions year after year after year. Imagine spending a membership fee of $200/mo to watch your kid be benched and not progress? Crazy!... We believe that development is an essential element that will ensure the highest probability of a player performing at their highest levels. We believe that development is cultivated during practice and is tested during games. We believe that player development is more important than the outcome of any game, and that games are primarily used to create feedback about where to develop next. We believe that development is a process that never ends and is best achieved through a long-term outlook. Therefore, we will never make short-term sacrifices to win at the cost of the long-term goal of becoming the best versions of our team and self. We believe that winning plays an essential role in both a team and player's growth and the commitment to development reflects that value. We believe that everyone involved with this team, from the coaches, players, and parents, should all hate losing more than we love to win. Those who hate to lose play for much more than a trophy, they approach all that they do with an attitude of fighting for survival. By doing so, they hold themselves and everyone else accountable for their actions and know that not to lose the group must be strong. Those who exude those traits will be rewarded as leaders. We believe that diet and exercise are critical to the long-term development of a baseball player and young men. We believe that academic performance is more important than baseball and is critical to playing in high school. Therefore, it must be supported and rewarded. There are not enough teams out there and providing more access to more players is a beautiful thing, especially in 2020!

We have been getting a lot of questions about what our program is all about. What makes us different and how do we measure success for our players, team, and community? We believe that development, competition, playing time (experience), and positive relationships are all critical to becoming the best possible baseball player and young man. Achievement is the foundation that is accomplished when these layers are stacked in the best order. Development being #1, and so on. We h...ave developed belief statements for each layer of the overall team philosophies in the graphic below. Each player knows them and discusses them routinely as a team. Each belief is unique and is designed to stand on its own within each layer of our core values. Baseball is all about repetition and DETAILS. Therefore, beginning next week we will be highlighting the belief statements for each layer that are designed to stand alone.
