Dear Old Students, Help is needed from Sept 11-Sept 15 for readying the Center for the upcoming 20 day course. Tasks ranging from Kitchen prep to landscape lighting and leaf raking need attention. Don't worry if you don't have experience, good volition is all that is needed. You may come for any number of days/hours until Sept 15. ... Vipassana in Daily Life: Special Event at SBVH Sunday, August 31 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm There will be an outreach event for old students and for those who have not taken courses in our tradition. A visiting senior Vipassana teacher from India will be giving a brief talk and answering questions. While the event will be in English, the teacher speaks Hindi as well. All old students and friends and family who haven’t taken courses are invited to attend.

CVC is in need of servers for the upcoming AT workshop 5/18/2014 - 5/26/2014. Full-time service is encouraged but part-time is also accepted. Please note that part of the workshop happens over the Memorial day long weekend. Servers prepare breakfast, lunch, a lite fare at dinner and have an opportunity to sit three daily Group Sittings with workshop attendees. Sometimes special presentations or videos are shown in the evenings. Usually there is also an opportunity to sit ...during morning chanting as servers rotate taking turns making breakfasts. Additionally, there are evening metta sessions daily. If you can serve please write to [email protected] with first and last name and arrival day and departure day. You will be notified regarding your registration to serve.
