I usually go for vibrant colors when posting pix from the gym on IG. I’ve opted for B&W because it is reminiscent of the past. After serious deliberation I have decided to close Source 1 Martial Arts and Fitness. The constant uncertainty from our elected officials on whether I could run my nonessential business simply made staying open an impossibility. I’m sure many other small business owners and gym/martial arts schools in particular are in the same boat. I wish them muc...h luck and success. For those of you who enjoy training with me, do not worry, I will not stop coaching. After 25 years it’s just part of who I am. I will move away from the brick and mortar onto online programming and private training. The saying on the wall of my gym is, Pain is part of life. Misery is optional. I am saddened that this great gym has been forced to close by the one size fits all approach forced upon us by elected officials, but I am thrilled that my gym had an outstanding student base that was as varied a crossection of society as any gym on the planet. Many students had different goals but were all drawn together by a shared mindset of simply doing the work. Come in. Have fun. Do the work. It doesn’t have to be any harder than that. I would like to thank my amazing students, it has been an honor to train you. And to my staff it was an honor to see you all grow as coaches. I wish it would have gone on for longer but I thank you for an amazing few years. Stay strong, my friends!!! (My apologies that I don’t have pix of everyone. And new IG handle coming soon!) See more

Mobility is more important than ever. With all the extra sitting, your muscles need extra love. Get the blood pumping, stretch and mobilize 10-15min a day at the least.
