Best preventative nutrition advice: Continue to feed yourself a balance of food, whatever is available to you, and find some time to get outside and move your body, maintaining 6 feet between you and others. (Goes without saying: Wash your hands! We are all in this together.)

Kids eat what they need, intuitively. Using the Satter method of feeding means allowing her to decide how much and if she’d like to eat, and I feed her when, where and what I choose. Here you can see her plate after lunch; I served Mac and cheese, sweet peppers, corn/carrot/tomato slaw, and a cookie with water (we are out of milk). My daughter loves sweets, I should say. I served the cookie with lunch instead of after (which is the custom) and in line with Satter. Today she didn’t eat the whole cookie. Just wanted to show what happens sometimes. (Sometimes the cookie is gone first and sometimes they leave it). #trustchildren #itseemslikeamiracle

Brushing up my #haes approach to #sportsnutrition with the amazing @laurenantonrd (who I’m also lucky to have as a supervisor in my practice). Talking about Fat Phobia, Wright stigma, Thin privilege and how ED professionals can help combat it. So glad to learn more about moving towards a weight-inclusive sports paradigm.

Mixing the #compost today. It smells bad, which means some of it is anaerobic. Mixing it adds air, cools it, and let’s the worms a nice home to migrate into. When you’re left with scraps of rotten materialsmake compost! Feed the beauty that’s to come. @ West Torrance, Torrance

"All bodies are good bodies." Perhaps the most important message, it lives into the idea that all people are equal. Loving this article and the resources shared here.

#womeneatingfood and enjoying it. Yes! I’m ruminating (pun intended) on the focus of pleasure today in relationship to food and body, and appreciating how #pleasure and #enjoyment with food and your body-a radical act in itselfis also what sustains the shift in you and sustains change in our culture. On a personal and macro level. It’s social justice. Love it. Y’all go eat and by all means, enjoy yourselves! This pretty much sums up my philosophy on parenting (on my best days), whether it comes to learning, making friends, exploring nature, or of course food and feeding. Trusting my children also necessarily involves trusting myself and the process of growth. My greatest hope is that by showing trust, empathy, respect and love to them, they have the opportunity to experience it and practice those same things themselves. This shot comes from an essay by Meagan Fitzgerald, the founder of Tinkergarten. We’ve been playing at Tinkergarten for about a year now, and I’m appreciating the intention behind all of the little and big activities we do to help develop empathy and wonder. #tinkergarten #souflnutrition #naturenutrition #trust #nature #trustnature #kidsnutrition #nutritionforkids #ellynsatter #divisionofresponsibility
