The County received $100 million to provide rental assistance for COVID impacted low income renter households. The County is providing their money county-wide, both in incorporated and unincorporated areas. Glendale residents will be able to apply for this County program. Beginning August 17 and through August 31, people can apply online at https://211la.org/lacounty/rentrelief or by phone by dialing 2-1-1, which is a telephone service that the County uses for signups. The... benefits of this program are that: 1. Depending upon income, residents can qualify for either $7,500 or $10,000 in assistance. 2. It can be used for rent in arrears and future rent (from March December only). 3. The documentation process is supposed to be minimal. 4. Certain zip codes will be prioritized and assisted immediately. Glendale has 8 of those high priority zip codes (south Glendale). Non-priority zip codes are expected to be processed in September. 5. Applicants will be selected via a lottery conducted by the County.
