Sophia's Angels provides education through Health Literacy by teaching families powerful tools to navigate their way through the therapy and care for their child while living in the hospital for leukemia and cancers. Using our simple trademarked techniques they are better able to deal with doctors, nurses, while assisting their child's healing with love, such as massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, acupressure, visualization & storytelling and the how to live in the hospita...l settings and deal with family living at home. The goal is to help the family deal with the painfulness of child cancer. How We Got Started Sophia Hartman was 11 years old when first diagnosed with "Sudden Onset Leukemia". With the sudden loss of the normal way of living, the Hartman family had to navigate their lives to fit with her new life of therapy for leukemia, with most of her experience living in the hospital. Sharing our experience, we found that there was a need for others like us, who needed a direction. We created our "Lay Mother's Guide to Healing" to give structure. Vivian Hartman's information provides Sage Advice to all those in this situation to help with the general understanding of this kind of loss and how to turn the families fear of possible death of their child, into a hope of life. The "what do we do now" is replaced with "this is what we can do" on a day to day.
