Negotiations in the House and Senate with Republicans and Democrats have produced a $908 billion COVID relief plan that addresses both the health and economic s...ides of this crisis. While it is not a perfect framework, this compromise will provide relief to struggling families, small businesses and state and local governments who need help urgently. The plan includes an extension of unemployment benefits at $300 a week for people out of work and the eviction moratorium, so people are not thrown out of their homes. It also includes $35 billion to support health care providers, $6 billion for vaccine development and distribution, $25 billion in rental assistance for states, $300 billion to fund the paycheck projection program, $160 billion for state and local governments and more than $90 billion for education and child care providers. Time for everyone to come to the negotiating table in good faith so we can provide support to those who need it most. See more
