Always a little stressful to find just the right moment during harvest to bottle our Pet Nats. As of today the Rosè is sealed safely under crown cap ready to finish fermentation in the bottle. Only 96 cases produced and should taste amazing in a few months! @ Solminer Wine
We started planting apple trees around the vineyard in 2018 using heirloom cider varietals with names like Black Twig, Ashmeads Kernel, Spitzenburg and Northern Spy. We figure there’s about 15 apple varietals and even a couple of pear trees. This year we harvested our first small harvest and created a blend of our estate apples with an organic practicing orchard in Paso. We pressed about a ton of apples into 2 barrels. We are pretty excited about making some cider for you! @ Solminer Wine

Use your power, take action - VOTE! Take 1 minute to register or confirm your voter registration. We spend so much time thinking we don’t have the power to change the world. We forget that the power to change someone’s life is always in our hands. Quote and Illustration by @cleowade
Last month, Joanna Snawder-Manzo visited our farm, vineyard and tasting room to discuss regenerative agriculture, Biodynamic wines and our Austrian inspired winemaking style. We couldn't be happier with the essay she put together. Please take a moment to read this incredibly written piece about the future of winemaking both here in Santa Barbara County and beyond. https://www.jancisrobinson.com/ar/wwc20-solminer-california
Our hearts are with all of our friends to the North and South of us fighting fires and facing evacuations throughout the whole West Coast Thankfully we’re currently safe here in Los Olivos.
Happy Birthday @annadelaski we love you!! We were too busy celebrating yesterday to post, but we all know Leo’s celebrate for the whole month
Happy St. Laurent (Lorenzitag) Day! In Austria, every year August 10th is supposedly the day that the St. Laurent grapes would start changing color. As far as we know, there is only one other vineyard in California that grows this variety. We started by planting one row of St. Laurent four years ago and have taken those cuttings and added new plantings within our old Syrah block. We’ll harvest only a small amount of St. Laurent this year, but are super excited to see how it does here in Los Olivos on our Biodynamic vineyard! @ Solminer Wine
The barn is one of our favorite places on the farm. It’s over 100 years old and packed with so much character. Today it’s home to our tools, donkeys, sheep, cats and the barn owls that come and go. @ Solminer Wine
We’re super excited to welcome our new assistant winemaker to the team @carterpaulwines !! He’s worked harvest in Austria, loves Grüner Veltliner and is an all around great human being. Can’t wait to crush harvest 2020 and beyond with him!
