SB700 is now the law of the land.
Mother Earth will survive, but I am not so sure about us There’s virtually no precedent for a hurricane moving southwest for some time along the Carolina coast.
For those waiting for the moment when we could see a distinct impact from the Section 201 tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, the second quarter of 2018 was it. Solar installation levels across all sectors fell to 2.3 GW-DC, a 9% fall year-over-year and a 7% decline versus the first quarter.
Solar Richmond needs your help at the critical time. click the donate button on the Solar Richmond Page and we will get the funds faster but in any event please give whatever you can.
California’s monopoly utilities are waging a multi-pronged attack on our individual rights and our ability to put solar on our homes, our schools, our businesses. At stake is our freedom to cut the cord to ever-rising energy bills, and generate and store clean energy when and how we see fit. While California has led the nation on protecting the rights of private property owners and renters to go solar, these rights are not set in stone and are constantly under attack.
The Solar Foundation’s 2017 U.S. Solar Industry Diversity Study is the first comprehensive research on diversity in the solar workforce, including the representation of women, minority groups, and veterans. This study is the result of surveys and interviews conducted with both solar employers and employees. This survey is why Solar Richmond needs your support to keep working to change these outcomes by support policy that will provide the incentives to change the dire results of this survey... read on.
Exciting news to share: SB 700 (Wiener) just passed out of the state assembly (with bipartisan support no less)! This is a major milestone and would not have happened were it not for phone calls, emails and in-person meetings with legislators and their staff over the past few weeks and months. This is especially so given that IOUs oppose this bill and are working against us. SB 700 would extend consumer incentives for behind-the-meter energy storage systems through 2025. This will give the solar industry the certainty and longevity we need to increase demand and lower prices and job opportunities. The growth of storage is critical to the future of all solar installations so please take action today to ensure our market stays healthy and growing. Developed in partnership with Carroll Ministries and Pastor Ambrose Carroll (a Green For All Fellow), GTC works to empower church leadership and lay people to develop practical solutions to economic and environmental issues in the Black community. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) Rule, which establishes emission guidelines for states to use when developing plans to limit greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions at power plants. The proposal is a replacement for the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan (CPP), which the agency calls overly prescriptive and burdensome.
Earth’s atmosphere naturally contains greenhouse gases. Without them, the world would be way too cold for humans. But we are adding extra greenhouse gases, which are causing Earth to heat up and disrupting weather patterns worldwide. So which of these many gases is heating Earth the most?
