DEADLINE has been extended to Oct 30, 2020 Here is a message from Dr. D. Dear Sociology majors, Social Work Options, and Criminology majors: ... I hope this message finds you well. I want to invite you to take advantage of an opportunity by applying to be a peer mentor for the department of Sociology. The peer mentor program was designed to create a community of student leaders who are invested in supporting the success of their peers while learning from faculty mentors in the department. This is the 15th year of the program and we have always benefited from a diverse body of students who are invested in student success. The program is a class. You will received 3 units in the spring ‘21, fall ‘21, and another option to continue in spring ‘22 semester, The spring Soc 4070 taught by Dr. Mary Yu Danico counts as an upper division soc elective but can be petitioned for your senior seminar. Unlike other classes, the program offers you an opportunity to learn, grow, and implement what you are learning about leadership, advocacy, and excellence in education with a cohort with like minded student leaders. We are looking for students who want to be involved, make a difference, and grow in the process. You have a chance to serve in a leadership capacity and get mentoring in return!
