Socrates I had found th...is gorgeous scene at the outlet of Bridalveil Falls. The accumulation of fall leaves provided this brilliant gold color contrasting against the grey granite. The slow moving stream added a sense of movement. When I got the image into my computer I was deeply disappointed. The image did not live up to what I experienced while I was there. There was way too much detail causing so much chaos the eye had no place to focus. I thought I had a missed a golden opportunity. Now years later, with much more composition experience under my belt, I took another crack at the image. What did I do differently? I ruthlessly took everything out of the image that didn't add value. By distilling the image down to the minimum required It gave it much more impact and meaning. I think as we start the week the analogy holds up. Don't be busy for busyness' sake. Throw out everything that is not essential and you will have a much more impactful week.
