"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway." Thinking about this quote the last several days, as the news gets bleaker and my optimism starts to wane. I started this little journey called Smiletheory because I had a dream to provide something lacking in the marketplace: offer patients a wholly transparent dental experience where the patient is the VIP. I formed an amazing team with the same vision as me. When I... started down this path in 2018, I was 7 months pregnant and pretty soon I left on maternity leave. Everyone who talked to me said I was out of my mind to start a business only to drastically slow down a couple months later. 2019 was the year to stabilize things and 2020 was the year to hunker down and meet my goals (because, no more babies for us!). Whelp. I could have never predicted in a million years that a pandemic would hit and close our office for several weeks, or longer. But, as most bad things in life do, there is a silver lining. I'm home with my little ones when before I lamented I didn't have enough quality time with them. Our days are less structured, filled with nature walks and scavenger hunts and cookie baking and endless coloring. I don't find myself in a rush anymore, because there's no where else I gotta be right now. It sounds trite, but I pass a beautiful tree with pink blossoms every day on our walk and I wonder how many times I missed it before. This has been the most unproductive time in my life and yet at the same time, the most productive too.

At the recommendation of various government agencies as well as the California Dental Association, we are temporarily closed to do our part to prevent further spread of COVID-19. We will still be available for dental emergencies and can be contacted by email, phone, and social media. We wish you good health in these trying times. We WILL get through this together.
