Finding the Why in Your Giving
If you want to know joy and be blessed, learn the wonderful experience of giving. "The Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Acts 20:35
God works in mysterious ways, and He was faithful to the Gowing family when a Covid-related job loss made their future unsure. At the same time, He provided for Shadow Mountain's new food ministry, Shadow Mountain Cares.
Pick Your Brother Up
The Bible tells us there’s a time for everything under the sun, including a time to BUILD. This weekend, discover how Ecclesiastes 3:3 brings comfort to a chaotic world. Pastor Jeremiah will continue his new series by zeroing in on one important verse in this famous book of wisdom. Learn how to Build Up as we discern the five things our lives are really about. Join us at 6pm Saturday or 9am Sunday!
Our Gathering Worship Collective high school choir helped out with worship at El Cajon last weekend. We're all celebrating our students' return to their youth programs and the coming reopening of our children's ministries at all campuses on November 15.
Times are changing! This weekend we will continue with our Saturday 6pm and Sunday 9am service times. Beginning November 1, we will shift to Sunday services only: 9 & 11am.
"He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains." Psalm 95:4
"We need to always have our hearts and minds in the place where we’re going to spend forever." - "Living Above the Chaos," Pastor David Jeremiah "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:2-3
Living Above the Chaos
In a volatile world, can we truly rise above the chaos? This weekend, Pastor Jeremiah will begin a brand-new series, Living with Confidence in a Chaotic World. Many of the Scripture passages that speak about Christ's return also give us very practical instruction on how to live while we are waiting for our Savior, and this short series will examine these two themes together. In this first message, "Living Above the Chaos," we'll look at Colossians 3:1-4, where Paul encourages us to focus on four specific things as we discover what it means to be hidden with Christ. Plan now to attend one of our two services at South Bay: Saturday 6pm and Sunday at 9am.
"God wrote Joash a blank check, and Joash only cashed half of it." - Pastor David Jeremiah, "Elisha's Final Miracle"
In the last message of the Elisha series, Pastor Jeremiah recounted the story of Joash and his arrows. Elisha told Joash to strike the ground with them, and Joash obeyed, but without enthusiasm. He struck the ground only three times. "God gave him a blank check, but he only cashed half of it." "Then [Elisha] said, Take the arrows; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, Strike the ground; so he struck three times, and stopped. And the man of God was angry with him, and said, You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times. II Kings 13:18-19
