So I have these ideas right, and to see them come to fruition with the help of my peers is amazing. A while ago, (in the time before Rona) I told Andru how cool... it would be to have the band come out with us during our clean ups. To make it like a parade and bring joy to the hood through the music as well. Yesterday we brought the city its first Community Clean Up Parade & Give Away. We were able to clean up over 20 bags of trash; gave out about 75 plates from Cre8tions by Veronica Lopez; folks took over 4 bags of clothes; and we gave hygiene supplies, snacks and a lot of water. We got donations from multiple people and organizations including the Community Mothers of Del Paso Heights and Smart Energy Brokers. The band was provided by Bigger Than Us Arts; the music was jammin and the vibes were great on a sunny Sunday morning. It was a really dope thing to be a part of and I'm proud we got to uplift the neighborhood I was raised in.
