His eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith nominated for the Nobel peace prize Dr. Amara Ranaweera, Sri Lankan-born petroleum scientist has nominated His eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo for the Nobel prize, which that the nominations were closed by 31 January 2021. During Easter attacks which resulted in mass killings of Catholics, the way his eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith acted is commendable. In a time, Catholics were atrociously inflicted..., his message for his Catholic devotees was to be calm and to stay peaceful and not to take the law into their hands. His act is meritorious because if not Sri Lanka would have been faced a huge catastrophe due to the racial conflicts. He decentralized his message via the parishioners in different churches by reassuring the hot-blooded Catholics. Apart from that, he was overwrought and concerned for the victims and took every step in rebuilding their lives and pacifying them. His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith deserves this nomination and if this Nobel prize for peace will be awarded, a very strong message would be conveyed to the world community that massacres and destruction in the name of religion are no more accepted by the world. Indeed another milestone in the history of the human race. Such missions are hard and there are a lot of things that have to go right to achieve this moment of succes...s. Thus, SL-borne mechanical, robotics and rocket engineer Melony Mahaarachchi has been a key figure in the Mars 2020 Perseverance Mission. She is the person who designed the internal layout for the car-sized rover. During her career life, she worked at SpaceX, Boeing, and one of the lead engineers in the NASA Jet propulsion Laboratory on the MARS Rover 2020 mission. In Rover, she had led the internal cabling design and communication system.Melony, raised to a middle-class family in Mt. Lavinia, moved into the USA in 2003 with her husband and two young children, and there onwards she worked on building her career. In the USA she pursued a mechanical engineering degree and graduated from UCLA. Thus, her life story itself is an inspiration to young women. Influenced by her own personal and professional experience, she pioneered a non-profit organization called iSTEM to empower and inspire young women to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
