FREE Online Scent Work Training Webinar On Thursday, December 10th at 7 pm, Steve Bettcher will be giving a FREE webinar (via Zoom) on scent work training. He will explain how online training is done, what materials you need for classes and how to sign up. Attendance is by reservation only. Looking for a Scent Work class? Steve Bettcher has openings in the following classes: *Tuesday at Noon for Novice/Intermediate Scent Work ... *Saturday at Noon for Intermediate/Advanced Level Scent Work. Both are Drop-in classes. Announcing a new class: Handler Discrimination for AKC Scent Work. This is a 7 week online class, starting on Wednesday, October 28th. The cost is $175. Steve Bettcher is the instructor. Handler Discrimination is an AKC Scent Work discipline where the dog must find the handler's scent using one or more scent articles such as a glove, cotton ball or cotton swab. In this Canine Scent Work event the dog needs to find the handler's scent , discriminating it from the judge's scent and indicate to the handler that he/she has found it. This course will prepare students to compete in the AKC Scent Work Novice Handler Discrimination Division. See here for sign-up information: http://www.sldtc.org/specialty.php.

Hello everyone, Interested in virtual online classes but unsure if they are right for you? Here is a chance to try out the format for free! On Friday, 10/16 at 7:30pm, we will have a FREE virtual online "Handler's Choice" Rally practice class! Everyone will get a chance to pick at least one Rally skill to work on (straighter fronts, better stays, sit/down/stand changes while staying in heel, left pivots, send to cone, backing with turning, etc. - you pick it!). The instructo...r will be Dawn Bushong. If you're interested in the AKC Virtual Rally titles (Novice or Intermediate), Dawn has gone through the process for both levels with her own dog and can help you get started and answer your questions. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you'd like to attend and you'll be sent the link to the virtual classroom. The class should be 30 - 60 minutes, depending on how many people RSVP.

To all members, students and friends of the San Lorenzo Dog Training Club. We are resuming classes with a limited schedule. We will have restricted contact classes indoors at our facility located at 534C Lewelling and outdoor group classes at San Lorenzo Community Church. Classes will be added to our schedule gradually as conditions allow. If you are attending classes, please print out the waver and rules (link on homepage of website), and bring the fully signed waiver with you to the first class. Thank you all for your patience. We hope to see you and your dogs in classes soon.

Hello Facebooks friends: The San Lorenzo Dog Training Club is looking into developing an online training program. The hard-working group that’s putting the program together has some questions for you: 1. Are you interested in online training?... 2. What type of classes would you be interested in taking online? Think of our current menu of offerings (puppy, obedience, rally, nose/scent work, tricks, etc.) as well of anything else which may be of interest. 3. ATTENTION! To comply with Alameda County's "Shelter in Place" order, now extended to May 3rd, San Lorenzo DTC has made the following changes to its schedule in April: *All classes are postponed/cancelled until May. If you have signed up for one of the Beginning or Puppy classes, you will be contacted regarding rescheduling.... *The April General Meeting has been cancelled. The next monthly meeting is scheduled for May 11th. Please, everyone stay safe and stay well. We miss our dog training family and hope to see all of you again in May. The multi-week Puppy and Beginning Classes will be rescheduled. The April General Meeting has been rescheduled to April 13th.... Stay safe everyone.

Good Evening Everyone - SLDTC's Obedience and Rally Match, originally scheduled for April 5th, has been cancelled in compliance with the "Shelter in Place" order issued by Alameda County (Cal State East Bay has also cancelled all events on its grounds until April 7th, for the same reason). If you entered this event, payment will be returned / refunded. We're sorry that we had to cancel. We enjoy putting on this event and seeing all our friends in the dog training community.... We may re-schedule for later this year. Stay tuned.

Attention Rally Enthusiasts: The next Friday night Rally Class takes place Friday, March 6th. The start time is 7 pm. If you plan to attend the class, please send an RSVP to Dawn at [email protected] and let her know your level and what skills or exercises you would like to work on.

The next "Tricks, Platforms and Clickers" class takes place Wednesday, March 8th at 8 pm.
