Thank you, Dr. Davis!!! So grateful to partner with and support amazing organizations like @skinnygeneproject, founded by the amazing @marbollinger. Can’t forget @ayamoriha who helps make it run like a well-oiled machine. This Organization is truly dedicated to making prevention a priority! We are kindred spirits. I had the opportunity to do a webinar on COVID-19 with their awesome coaches who are committed to supporting their members in achieving true health, which is especially needed now more than ever.

Excellent advice from Skinny Gene Coach Christine Burke on how to stay in control during this COVID-19 crisis. Make sure to check out her free fitness videos that you can do at home. (Please share to keep your friends and family healthy!) .......... If you'd like to feel a little more productive or in control during this crisis, one thing you could do is work towards improving your immune system and overall health. Your best bet is a MODEST daily program of cardio (20-30min), regular sleep (7-9 hours), drinking water (about 8 cups), eating high-quality proteins (2-3 servings) and veggies (2-5 cups), choosing high-fiber carbs like fruits and intact grains, and avoiding inflammatory foods (sugar, alcohol, deep fried, processed). As an amazing bonus, this is the same program that reduces your chances of Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. If you want help with the exercise part, I'm posting "don't sweat it" exercises on my business page (Christine Burke Fitness) every day at 6:30am. There are strength workouts on Tue & Thu and suggestions for cardio all week as well. I also encourage you to spend time talking with friends & family and think about ways to reduce your total stress. Look into or go back to meditation and breathing and stretching practices. Friends, hit me up for Zoom/Skype/FaceTime coffee and catchup. Stay safe everyone. #stayhealthy #healthymindset #healthyeating #stayfit #covid-19 #stayincontrol

Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus. -World Health Organization The WHO has issued the following recommendations to help protect yourself from the Coronavirus, with handwashing being the best preventative measure. Hand washing... Covering mouth and nose Avoiding close contact with those who are sick Masks and PPE Thoroughly cook animal products Avoid unnecessary contact with animals Those with diabetes are more susceptible to infection due to a weakened immune system. In addition to the WHO recommendations, supporting your immune system is the best way to protect yourself from infection. Maintain a healthy immune system by getting enough sleep, exercising, reducing stress, and eating a varied diet. If you are part of, or have completed our Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), you have been educated on how to be successful in these facets and support your overall health.
