Lots of scientific data below about my new Vitamin C Serum. This is the best most highly penetrated Vitamin C on the market! I have not been a huge fan of Vitamin C applied topically because it’s so difficult to find a formula that doesn’t oxidize. Well, here it is! Ascorbic Acid, Gold, Glutathione; the newest Ascorbic acid delivery system serves to improve the stability of ascorbic acid, and extends the lifespan of ascorbic acid in the skin. ... Additionally, glutathione is a precursor to ascorbic acid, so it regenerates ascorbic acid as it is used up by our skin. This results in an effective delivery system that far outperforms any % of free ascorbic acid or other ascorbic acid derivatives. Also, with regular ascorbic acid, it becomes a pro-oxidant as it gets oxidized- essentially meaning that it may in fact donate free radicals back. The glutathione conjugation prevents this from ever becoming a pro-oxidant. The conjugated ascorbic acid at the percent it is being used in the formula provides an antioxidant capacity comparable to a 50% ascorbic acid solution. And, because it’s 100% stable- it retains this efficacy after the product has been opened. Formulas containing regular ascorbic acid will see about 80-90% decrease in ascorbic acid content after just 6 days. So, if you have a 15% vitamin C serum, it only retains about 2% of its ascorbic acid content after a week. This content continues to decrease over time. This is not the case with the conjugated ascorbic acid. So, not only do you get a huge increase in efficacy, but the product retains its efficacy over time. Additionally, with free ascorbic acid, only about 30% of whatever we apply topically will penetrate the skin in its effective state. With the conjugation system, 100% of the ascorbic acid penetrates. So, with a 15% vitamin C serum, on the very first day that you use it (before it’s oxidized by 90% in one week), you’re only getting about 4.5% ascorbic acid that actually penetrates the skin in its active form. With the conjugated ascorbic acid, 100% of the applied ascorbic acid content will be bioavailable to the skin.

This current step in my skin care routine has been helping my skin so much with this cold, dry winter air! For extra added hydration, I’ve been spritzing or misting my face in between skin care steps. What does that do, you ask???... Well, it adds hydration to the skin, and most serums or moisturizers contain humectants, such as glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, etc. For humectants to do what you want them to do, add hydration, you need to add water. And if you don’t have water in the air, you need to actually add it to your skin care. And that is exactly what I’m doing. @eminenceorganics

A ride or die right here! I’ve been using @skinscriptrx Glycolic Retinol Pads for years. Why, you say?! ... They are my #1 home care product to combat hyperpigmentation. With #kojicacid #retinol #arbutin and #glycolicacid they pack a powerful punch and attack the overactive melanocytes.

Has your skin been extra dry with the cooling of the weather?! Mine has! These are the 3 Ingredients I make sure to add to my skin care regimen when the temperature starts to drop.... Hyaluronic Acid: this one is like magic when you start seeing that dehydration and crepy-ness. Ceremides: If you are noticing irritation, chapped skin or eczema this will act as a shield from harsh weather and pollution. Lactic Acid: Most exfoliants can actually add to the feeling of dry skin. That is why I love Lactic Acid. It is an exfoliant that actually helps to hydrate your skin while brightening it and removing any dull, dead skin.

#realskin #nofilter #nobotox #nofiller Skin has texture, pores, wrinkles, redness, discoloration. This is me wearing tinted spf, concealer under my eyes cause...kids & allergies, blush, mascara & brow pencil (I used some on the corners of my eyes, too). I’ll be 40 next month. I consistently use quality skincare products & SPF, have regular facials (nothing fancy) and eat healthy (most of the time). ... I HATED my skin at one point in my life. That is one of the reasons why I became an Esthetician. I learned that consistency with my daily habits was key to healthy skin. Is my skin perfect? NO! Has it taken time and effort to achieve skin that I am proud of? YES! When I was 20 and on Accutane (that did not work) I was at a loss. But I learned that a lot of little changes gave HUGE results. And if I was consistent with these skin care daily habits I could have skin I’m proud of! You can too!

Always apply your skincare products, lightest weight-to heaviest weight. An example of a simple nighttime skincare routine would be: ... 1. Cleanse your face, double cleanse if wearing makeup or heavy spf. 2. Apply toner or exfoliating pads. 3. Pat/push in serum, don’t forget your neck, ears and décolleté. 4. Apply your moisturizer. 5. Massage in or Gua Sha your face oil. An example of a simple morning routine is: 1. Cleanse face using cool water. When I cleanse in the morning I always use a gentle cream or milky cleanser. 2. Pat/push daytime serum into skin. 3. Massage moisturizer into skin. 4. Apply SPF or tinted SPF liberally. 5. I always end my morning skincare routine with a quick mist of a hydrating facial spray. So easy and each only takes about 5 minutes! See more

What to do about MASKNE aka acne caused by mask wearing. And how to prevent it! 1. Make sure you are wearing a clean or new mask everyday. And changing it often throughout the day. ... 2. Wear minimal make-up. 3. Use a serum with Willow Bark or a BHA to combat bacteria. 4. When you remove your mask, remove it completely. Don’t let it sit on your jawline. This is the area where I am seeing the most breakouts. 5. Use blotting papers throughout the day to remove excess oil. 6. Use a moisturizer with lipids and ceramides to act as a barrier between your skin and the mask. 7. Use a mild retinol at night to help with cell turnover. 8. Exfoliate at least once or twice a week to remove any excess dead skin. And WASH YOUR HANDS!
