SJSU Photo Guild 17.10.2020

If you're in San Jose this coming week, be sure to check out the Image and Idea exhibition in Gallery III and the Black Gallery, Art Building, SJSU. My students... have worked incredibly hard this semester. An impressive array of lens-based work, from black and white photography to video installation and everything, truly, in between, will be presented for your viewing pleasure. The exhibition runs from Dec. 2nd through 5th, with the opening from 6-8PM on Tuesday night. Refreshments will be served. Join us! Professor Jonathan Fung is curating an art installation for the MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center to raise awareness about the negative environmental effects of "Fast Fashion." In response, Professor Fung's Photo 40 class is promoting a clothing drive to give free clothing to SJSU students in need. If you have gently used clothing to donate, it can be dropped off at the MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center directly across from the Spartan Bookstore by this Friday, Nov. 15 at 3PM You are i...nvited to the Fast Fashion opening reception, scheduled for Tuesday, November 19 at 6:00PM, at the Belcher Gallery in the Art Building. Public viewing hours will be from 10AM to 7PM on November 18 to 21. *Students in need will be able to take all clothing from the exhibition for FREE on Thursday, Nov 21 at 10AM to 7PM.

Tomorrow (Thursday, Nov 7th), the Centro Exhibition Opening Reception will be happening for the "Aqui Estamos Y No Nos Vamos" show. Please join us between 6-8pm to celebrate this incredible exhibit at the Chicanx/Latinx Student Success Center.

Attend SPE with the Photo Guild! We will have the opportunity to take 13 guild members to SPE in Santa Clara University this weekend November 1st-3rd for free! It will be on a first come first serve basis by responding to this post through direct message.... The requirements to attend are: -Must be an active member who's paid this semester's guild fees -Must be a BFA (or planning to join the program) or MFA student Please respond to this post through message by the end of today in order to reserve your spot. Photo Guild Meeting BFA Workshop Hello all! We will be having our next Photo Guild meeting on Thursday October 24th in DH 406 from 6:30pm-8:00pm. We will be having a workshop on the application process and have a mini show and tell/critique for those who are interested in applying for the Photography BFA program.

The following is information for the Call for Submissions for artwork to be exhibited in the Chicanx/Latinx Student Success Center (CLSSC, also known as ‘The Centro’). The Call is free and open to all current SJSU students and alumni who are within 2 years of having graduated. Submissions end October 22nd!
