Expressive plum, orange peel, and mocha. Our 2017 Incantation, the last wine in our Fall Release, is the new kid on the block and quite the showstopper. Watch our IGTV to learn why it's unlike any Malbec you've tasted before.

Licorice, tamarind, cherry and a hint of chipotle. Our 2017 Paladin, part of our Fall Release, is the result of our most challenging vintage yet. Watch our Facebook story to learn why Jim calls this wine the best of the lotand why Anthony has a love/hate relationship with it.

Vineyard manager Hillary Yount shares a special update from harvest last Friday: We finished the first harvest from Grace Vineyard on a beautiful, cool morning. At the time, I was just trying not to think about my tired legs from hiking up and down those hills, but Anthony reminded me that we had come full circlefrom development in Fall of 2017 to installation in early 2018 and first planting in spring 2018. ... Yes, a proud moment for a vineyard manager! But, wow, two years have gone by fast! I have learned a lot from a viticultural experience with developing and planting Grace Vineyard. I look forward to learning more about this site and what it has to offer to Sixmilebridge wines.

Black currant, lilac, hickory and wet stones. Our 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, part of our Fall Release, is incredibly focused on the long finish but lightens with a citrusy top note at the very end. Watch our Wines highlight on Instagram to learn more from Anthony and Jim about this elegant wine and how it differs from our Estate Cuvée.

Our Merlot grapes are looking great this harvest! Planted in 2013, this varietal makes up 1.29 acres of our 13.66 acre Maidie Vineyard.

Blackberry, worn leather, pomegranate and graphite. Our 2017 Estate Cuvée, part of our Fall Release, is one of the most interesting wines we've made yet. Watch our Wines highlight on Instagram to learn more from Anthony and Jim about this special wine.

We hope you're having a relaxing Labor Day. Our thoughts are with those who continue to battle the wildfires and their aftermath across California. Below, Jim shares an update on how Sixmilebridge is faring: Fortunately, we have not had any fires close to our vineyards; nevertheless, we did have smoke for several days from fires well south of us. With the few days of smoke we had in the area, most likely our fruit will not be affected. Tasting the grapes in the vineyard ha...s not revealed any smoke taint on the skins. However, grape sugars can bind with some of the smoke smelling compounds, masking the smoke when the juice is tested. During fermentation, when the sugar converts to alcohol, the smoke flavors and aromas can be released and you can get smoky tasting wine. To make matters more complicated, many wines have a bit of residual sugar, so these smoky compounds can remain undetected until released during bottle aging. The good news for you, our customer, is that even if the smoke doesn’t manifest itself during fermentation, most of our red wines see 14 months in the bottle before we release them. So if the smoky compounds are released in the bottle, we will know before we send you a bottle. And that would be Fall of 2023!
