A couple of years ago I was given a featherweight table from a friend of mine. It was his grandmas I believe. He used it as a work bench. Needless to say the top was pretty beat up. I am in Baja California where there is a wonderful painter/artist. I asked him to paint the table for me. I am thrilled with the results. Thought I’d share my joy

I am in Baja with some friends sewing today. Just realized we all have Featherweights!
A very cool tool. The binding foot. Learned how to use it to make ties for masks
THREAD DISCUSSION: 50 wt thread is 3 ply and designed for keeping 2 pieces of fabric together. 40wt and 30wt thread is usually for embroidery and considered decorative. 60 wt is 2 ply and is designed for embroidery bobbins, heirloom sewing (dainty stitches), dainty sewing, lettering in embroidery. Even as a quick fix, I would not use it in garments or "masks", bobbin or top thread. BTW, the medical industry is recommending Polyester Sewing thread for homemade "masks". Cotton ...thread or Polyester wrapped Cotton (Coats) is not recommended due to the number of times being laundered. Please don't use coats and clark it in your $15000 or more Sewing Machines or your featherweight. It is a very low grade cotton wrapping a polyester core. It is not long staple thread. It's short staple thread which is glued together not spun. And that glue gets on your tension disks and thru your threading system. ' I copied this post from another group i belong to. Just an FYI. Personally i don't use C&C thread at all anymore in any of my machines because of the lint factor Hope everyone is doing well in these crazy times Cindy
My hubby made me a very cool retractable design wall
