Four more days until we honor our Class of 2020 graduates with a special virtual ceremony that will air "live" at 10 a.m. Saturday! These 260 women and men from our undergraduate and graduate programs have pushed through the extraordinary challenges of this year to reach this milestone, and we could not be more proud of them. The online ceremony will follow the structure of an in-person commencement with introductions, speakers, special music, and presentation of the graduates. "Hey everyone, my name is Scott Dolan, and I am a transfer student from the Santa Rosa Junior College planning on attending Simpson University in the Fall of 2020. I'm very excited about Simpson because of new surroundings and adjusting to college life away from home. My dream is to use the gift that God has given me and use it to glorify his name along with teaching other...s how to play music in various ways. In addition to teaching others, I wish to pursue full mastery of the guitar fret board and use the guitar to its fullest potential." We are delighted to welcome Rebekah Burkwhat to our music department family. Please say hello to Rebekah! I am Rebekah Burkwhat. I will be transferring to Simpson University in the Fall of 2020. I will be studying for the Commercial Music Major. Music is one of my greatest passions and one of my favorite pass times. I literally will do hours of music! I am dreaming of a career in the music industry, specifically creating music as a singer-songwriter for the contemporary genre. I am excited to study music and I look forward to discovering what God has in store for me as I pursue my college degree.

My name is Celesta, and I am thrilled beyond words to attend Simpson University as a freshman this coming fall. I truly believe this is where God has led me, and I’m excited to grow both as a Christian and as a musician in the years ahead. My heart belongs first to Jesus, and second to the piano. As I feel called to spread the love I have for Christ, I feel called to spread the love I have for the pianoand that’s why I aspire to teach music. Music is a gift and I want to learn to teach others how to cultivate it in a way that brings glory to God. As one of my favorite verses says: Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:19)
