Kiko and Brian's wedding in Florida was the first wedding I've taken since the lockdown. It was smaller, intimate yet still fun. It was a bit hot in Florida for wearing a mask the entire 8 hours but I survived. Congratulations again! More photos to come :). We normally avoid talking non business related on our Simon and Sally social media. However, I feel the need to voice my concern about the stay-home order across the country. Lately, I have seen the #porchtrait movement and how some photographers trying to take photos of families in front of their houses, 6 ft away to profit or raise charity. It actually does not sit well with me. We, the photographers, are NOT essential, no matter how you spin it. So please stay home and don't hire photographers for such photo session. We are all doing our part as staying home so this disease can go away sooner. The longer the lockdown the more people will suffer as well as the economy. PLEASE STAY HOME. I have a limited cap on how many weddings I take a year because I want to work closely with my clients and give them 100%. Because of that, I still remember every single clients I have worked with since my business opened its door (not just wedding couples but the families I got to photograph as well). Some day I actually think about them and wonder how they have been doing since we last talked. Some of them I get to connect with via Facebook. Some of them I'm still too nervo...us to send that friend requests because I don't think I'm cool enough to be their Facebook friend. Those are the ones I have no idea how they have been. Today, not sure why but I thought about Dan and Chase. It's been almost a year (July 2019) since they have been married. I'm sure they are still rocking it because why wouldn't they? One of them is a nurse, a frontline worker who is working hard right now. I'm hoping they are still healthy and happy. March was one crazy month with the Corona Virus spreading and lockdowns across the globe. A lot of people I know have got hit really bad financially and emotionally with what going on. I was editing Nancy and Peter's wedding photo and saw this little rainbow popped up. It was created by luck while I was using a flash to add a rim light around them. This was totally coincident and I did not see this until I edited the photo. You know rainbow is a symbol of hope and promise of... good things to come. I wish this means great things for Nancy and Pete's marriage in the future. I also think this is an appropriate photo to share during this time.
