In this highly contentious election year, we want to make sure every community member knows the six key elements of a successful election. Join us and East Side Jews on Monday night for a special Defending Democracy Workshop. Info in link below https://www.sijcc.net/events/defending-democracy-2020

Last call for Days of Awesome tribute ads! Tribute ads are a great way to support SIJCC & send love to your community all at once. When you get a tribute ad, your contribution helps power SIJCC and all of our programs that you love, and you get a chance to send a message to the people you love! This year's tribute ads will be shown during both our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur virtual experiences and will also live on our website. Great opportunity for small businesses to show your support, or for you to send a message to your friends you've been missing since March. Tomorrow (9/15) is the last day to get your ad included in time for Rosh Hashanah! get yours now at www.sijcc.net/days-of-awesome-registration (you don't need to attend the event to buy an ad)
A bilingual elementary teacher, a master theater educator and and ECE alum with experience working at camp during the pandemic- these are just some of the incredible staff in our Learning Lab. Kids in grades 1-5 can join us for facilitated distance learning and interactive enrichment activities in the afternoon. Check our our homepage for more info.
This Jewish new year we are facing a new world that requires us to think outside the box. (Literally! Who else is missing community events in The Box??) We're making the most of this strange time and are pleased to announce our part live, part pre-recorded virtual Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur experiences. Both experiences will be led by Deanna Neil of Deanna's Pop Up Shul, and accompanied by musicians, artists, activists and core members of our community. Get more info about ea...ch of our experiences and register to save your spot at www.sijcc.net/days-of-awesome-2020. Rosh Hashanah: FACE - 9/19/20, 10 am PT, live on Zoom. As we look at little faces on screens, at covered faces in masks, we grapple with what it means to be face-to-face with the divine. How do we face this year’s challenges? How do we face the loss of our way of life that was? Yom Kippur: HOME - 9/28/20, 10 am PT, live on Zoom. Home: The place that is our sanctuary, the place of our confinement. This Yom Kippur, you are invited into our homes, and we are a part of your home as we continue to explore the bounds of virtual gatherings. Yom Kippur is about t'shuvah, a returning to our homebase, a coming back around and we will be with you in whatever way we can.
We are proud to be one of the 600+ Jewish organizations, synagogues and congregations that signed this @nytimes ad declaring unequivocally: Black Lives Matter #jews4blacklives
