We have LIFTOFF!! This week we celebrate Redwood City School District's holistic student support! A RCSD State Preschool child was withdrawing, isolating, and r...efusing to consume anything except milk and water. One morning her teacher heard the child was living in a car, and noticed the child’s front teeth were blackened by decay. The teacher reported her observations to RCSD’s incredible Child, Family & Community Liaison who by 4:00 PM that day facilitated emergency pediatric dental care from San Mateo County Health Fair Oaks Health Center. Within 48 hours, the child and her single mother were provided a room-for-rent furnished with help from private donors. The child’s teacher noticed the positive changes immediately, coming to school smiling, greeting her teachers and inviting other children to play. Words poured from her mouth, she was a chatterbox!
