Sierra Hardware will be open regular hours today (Dec. 22nd) and tomorrow (Dec. 23rd) but will be closing at 4:00 P.M. on Christmas Eve. We will then be closed from Dec. 25-Dec. 28th. We will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 29th. We wish all our friends and customers a Merry Christmas and hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
The children were tucked all snug in their beds at Sierra Hardware just waiting for last minute Christmas shoppers!
Don’t go hungry! The Moose is open for take out from 11:00 to 2:00 Saturdays and Sundays.
My weekend projects. Magnets, bags and Christmas cards! Just in time for Christmas! They will be delivered at the end of this week to Sierra Hardware. Go check them out!
We were just notified by the Sierra County Health Dept. that we are entering the Greater Sacramento Region's Stay at Home order because the ICU capacity has reached 14.3% which is below the 15% capacity threshold. What this means for Sierra Hardware in simpler terms is that we can continue to stay open as an essential business but at 20% capacity and no eating or drinking in the business. Also, we will have special hours from 9:00 am-10:00 am for seniors or others with chron...ic conditions. This is in addition to MANDATORY face coverings when entering the business. In a nutshell, not to much different than before. Please follow the rules which go info effect tomorrow, 12/10/20. Only go out for essential needs/work and STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK!!!!!!!!!! USE COMMON SENSE AND SOME DAY WE WILL CAN GET PAST THIS CRAZINESS!!!! (Owner's comment, not that of the Sierra County Health Dept.)
So many supplies are difficult to get during this pandemic, but we are well-stocked on electric heaters and my buddy propane heaters for these chilly mornings and evenings. We also have a variety of toys you can browse for Christmas gift ideas. We still have Christmas lights available, wrapping paper, gift bags and tissue to wrap your holiday goodies. We are open 9 to 5:30, Tuesday-Saturday for your shopping needs unless otherwise posted. Happy Holidays!
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced that next year's fishing licenses will go on sale Sunday, November 15th. November 15th is also the last day of the regular fishing season on our local streams. Beginning November 16th one can still fish the streams but it is catch and release only. Fishing licenses/gift vouchers are a great Christmas gift for your outdoor fan!
Quick reminder, tomorrow, October 1st will be the last Farmer's Market in our parking lot for the 2020 season. Come check out You Bet Farms produce and flowers tomorrow from 10:00-12:00!
We had our first inquiry today about Christmas tree cutting permits. We will NOT be a vendor this year as the USDA is only selling permits online. However, you can go to www.recreation.gov and purchase a tree cutting permit for our area. They are still limiting it to two permits per household at $10 per permit. I went on the site today and was able to purchase two so it works. Good luck!
This should answer some questions that many folks have been asking.
We will be continuing our 7 day a week schedule for two more weeks then will resume our Sunday/Monday closure on Sunday, October 4th. Thank you for your continued business throughout the summer months and though all the Covid 19 changes. We will see what the coming months bring!
Everyone has been asking for head nets to keep those pesky gnats off their face. We were out of stock but have gotten them back in today!!!!

Some of our business neighbors in Quincy just experienced some really hard times. Surviving fire and going forth is tough. For many that don't know Sierra Hardware experienced a devastating fire in 1968 when my parents owned it and the entire community stepped in to help and my parents eventually rebuilt. We just wanted to share this for those who may be interested in helping the folks in Quincy. Thankyou!
As some of you may know coin is in short supply right now. As business owners we are limited at the bank as to how many rolls of coins we can get. If any of you locals have a change jar that you would like to roll ( I have some wrappers available) we would be happy to buy your coins. Some of the other local merchants may be willing to do the same, just check with them.
Thank you to everyone who shared their 4th of July photos! They made a lot of people smile!
