NORTH FORK, Calif., Sierra National Forest (SNF) announces two (2) construction projects to begin on Forest Road 5S07-Beasore Road. Phase 1 will begin Monday June 15th, 2020 with a paving project starting one (1) mile past the Chiquito Bridge. Visitors can expect up to a two (2) hour traffic delay during this project with construction equipment and traffic along Beasore Road. There will be no parking allowed on the shoulders and various pullouts during the construction peri...od. Phase 1 work on this project is expected to last for approximately 2 weeks. Road signs will be out to inform visitors of construction activity in the area. On Monday June 29th, 2020 Phase 2 work will begin with the replacement of the Upper Chiquito Bridge. During this phase of construction, Beasore Road will not be passable starting at the Upper Chiquito Bridge for approximately 120 days and the use of alternate routes during this period will be necessary. One of the alternate routes, FS Road 6S01-Grizzly Road thru to FS Road 4S81 (Minarets Road) will also have road construction taking place during the same time period but, will not be closed to traffic. Drivers in the Grizzly/Minarets Road area can expect some minimal delays. These minimal delays are expected mostly during the chip-sealing portion of the construction on FS Road 4S81 (Minarets Road). The road work on FS Road 4S81 (Minarets Road) will take place between Mile Post 11 - Mile Post 23. All drivers are reminded to obey all traffic laws in the designated construction zones, and speed limits. Please plan accordingly before your visit to the SNF. For more information on this project and alternate routes through the forest please contact the Bass Lake Ranger District at 559-877-2218. We would like to also remind our visitors that all SNF offices remain physically closed during this time however, we do have staff working virtually to assist with your information needs.

There is so much history on the Forest that is not common knowledge and I hope to inspire people to learn more about the local forest, the events that shaped t...he current forest and the depth of time use that has resulted in the sites that make up the cultural heritage of the Sierra National Forest.
