Celebrating the new freezer for students! It’s not Thanksgiving yet, but at North County Independent Study, staff is already thinking about how to better support their students and their families. At the end of last school year, NCIS partnered with Feeding San Diego, and now thanks to a generous donation from The Home Depot, the site has a freezer to house perishable goods. ... Assistant Store Manager Brandon Smith met Principal Greg Cohen (right) and Teacher Tom Healy (left), to deliver the fridge this week. Staff and students look forward to stocking it with food, because we all know it’s easier to learn on a full belly!

Staff Sargent Bradley Phillips of the United States Marine Corps visited the students at SIATech North County Coastal Independent Study High School recently to talk about his personal experience with the USMC. He also discussed the many opportunities and benefits available to those that select a career path with the Marines as well as answer all the students’ questions.
