Today we celebrated Halloween at our hospital. Patients wore their costumes donated by Spirit Halloween and participated in some socially distant trick-or-treating and our child life department threw a Halloween party for patients in our activity pavilion. #Halloween

Yesterday, our regional Spirit Halloween stores dropped off costumes for our patients. The Spirit Halloween stores champion the Spirit of Children campaign each year, benefiting Child Life departments for children’s hospitals. Over the years, Spirit Halloween stores have raised more than $315,000 for our hospital. Dr. Tafoya presented to pediatric anesthesiologists from around the world at the 34th Annual Meeting of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, covering best practices for pediatric regional anesthesia in patients with challenging anatomy. Dr. Tafoya’s presentation highlighted methods used in the pediatric regional anesthesia program at our hospital, focusing on anatomic differences, the ability to identify specific challenges and gaining clinical practice adaptations. #excellence #medicaleducation
