The ceremonies will take place in two parts on Wednesday, October 28, 12-1 pm ET and Thursday, October 29, 6-7 pm ET. The prestigious awards honor outstanding professionals for their dedication, commitment, and selfless efforts to advance Hispanics in STEM careers.

Please join us in welcoming the incoming 2020-2022 SHPE San Diego Professional Chapter President Jonathan Solano. Jonathan Solano has an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and works as an Electrical Engineer for Northrop Grumman in the Spectrum Campus. He is currently the Vice-Chair for Adelante (NG ERG). He was the President of the SHPE FAU Student Chapter, RGR 7 (2017-2018), and a mentor for the FAU SHPE Chapter. He has been a member of SHPE since 2011, became a #SHPE SD Professional chapter member when he moved from Florida in 2019, and excited to serve.

Please join us in welcoming the incoming 2020-2022 SHPE San Diego Professional Chapter Vice President of Corporate Affairs Luis Rivero, P.E. Luis Rivero began his career in engineering as a proud recipient of a scholarship from SHPE in 1988. Thanks to SHPE’s support, Mr. Rivero went on to get his B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering. He has managed activities in support of large-scale engineering and construction projects across the United States.... His overseas experience includes the design and installation of Radiation Portal Monitors (RPMs) for the United States Department of Energy sites in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Israel, Jamaica, Kenya, Malta, Lithuania, Panama, and Spain. In 2018, Mr. Rivero launched Bayside Engineering Construction, a San Diego-based corporation that specializes in environmental engineering, design-build construction, and natural/biological support. Always grateful for the support provided by SHPE, he is committed to mentoring fellow SHPE members and providing pathways for success to future scholarship recipients. See more
