Size 16 Shoes Make a Big Footprint in Someone's Life! The following story is unfortunately all too common. This gentlemen has been homeless since the pandemic began. He has been able to receive a jacket, hat, clothing and food. The problem is that he wears size 16 shoes and could not find a pair of shoes that fit. Since the pandemic began, he has been wearing flip flops. Wearing flip flops all the time can lead to painful feet and inflammation. Now as the colder weather ...nears, the finding of a good pair of shoes to keep his feet warm was crucial. We are so pleased to be able to provide him with a new pair of size 16 shoes. They fit perfectly and significantly changed his quality of life. He is so appreciative and is now walking comfortably without pain. We often receive requests for larger sized shoes. If anyone has a donation source of size 13 or greater men's walking shoes, please let us know. Together, by providing a good pair of shoes, we can significantly improve the quality of someone's life. #shoesforthehomeless, #nycshoedrive, #lashoedrive, #helpthoseinneednyc, #getinvolved, #homelessness, #nonprofit, #givebacktothecommunity, #volunteer #causes, #donatenyc,#nonprofit, #charity, #shoedrive,

ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM HOLDS SHOE DRIVE TO HELP THE HOMELESS Shoes for the Homeless thanks St. John Chrysostom School for hosting its annual shoe drive which will benefit those in need in the Southern California area. St. John Chrysostom School is a co-educational n Catholic elementary school in Inglewood, educating more than 275 students, grades transitional kindergarten through eighth. Now retired, June Hudson, a former 4th grade teacher and assistant principal, introduced th...e concept of a shoe drive to Jae Kim, principal. She said that the shoe drive ties in with the mission of St. John by instilling a spirit of service and hope in students, providing them with an awareness of social issues. She added that participating in service projects such as a shoe drive helps students develop compassion for others and self-discipline. We, as Christians, have an obligation to do our small part, Kim said. He continued, For a child to give shoes that they’re not using or grown out of is a practical way to give back. Kim added, I would encourage other organizations, especially those with families to give back to those in need, to those who are homeless. Each year, St John Chrysostom School collects over 1,000 pairs of shoes which are distributed to those in need without any cost to recipients. For more information on sponsoring a shoe drive, volunteering for shoe processing, or making a monetary donation, contact Shoes for the Homeless, Inc. at (800) 394-8286 or shoesforthehomeless.net St. John Chrysostom School can be contacted at (310) 677-5868 or at stjohninglewood.org.
Fairburn Elementary School Helps the Homeless for the 3rd Year! Fairburn Elementary School students are truly motivated to make a difference in society. This was exemplified by their annual shoe drive for the homeless. The students, families and staff collected over 500 pairs of shoes. All the shoes helped homeless men, women and kids receive a good pair of shoes! Thank you Fairburn Elementary!

Shout out to The Brentwood Sunshine Preschool for collecting almost 300 pairs of shoes in a Shoe Drive for Shoes for the Homeless, Inc. This preschool ran their shoe drive for 10 days and were so overwhelmed with donations, they didn't even have room to store them until their original intended end date. Thank you so much to all the families at The Brentwood Sunshine Preschool for donating shoes. They will help hundreds of people in our communities.
ServiceTitan Serves the Homeless! ServiceTitan, a business management software company, just completed its first shoe drive for the homeless. Shoes for the Homeless, Inc. directed the shoes to the Glendale YWCA and the Ascencia Homeless Shelter. Shoes at these organizations were in very short supply and were much needed. Services include an emergency shelter for women and kids, a domestic violence service center and education and outreach. You too can do your part to help... the homeless. We encourage other companies to also host a shoe drive. It is as simple as placing a box in your reception area and notifying your employees about the effort to help the homeless! Please contact Sabrina at [email protected]. Thank you to the ServiceTitan team and to Jon Diamond for organizing this effort!
Volunteers Make a Difference in January! It was wonderful to see all our volunteers making their way through bags and boxes of donated shoes on Saturday. Working together with smiling faces, they helped each other process over 1,200 pairs of shoes. It is always amazing to see how people, in just one hour, can do so much. Thank you to our volunteers for your caring and dedication to help the homeless and those in need!
