Thanks to everyone for coming out to our Play Day on Saturday! We had tons of fun and can't wait for the next one!

Things are ready!!! Can't wait to see everyone, if you can, please bring some sort of dessert to share!

Tomorrow is the last day to RSVP for our playday! We will have pizza and drinks, if you can, bring a dessert of some sort to share! Please make sure to text Sam to make sure your on the list!!! We will have games both on and off horseback! Most of the lesson horses have been reserved now, but still plenty of fun that doesn't have to be on the horse! We will also be splitting age groups :)

Our 2nd Crater Hill Endurance Team Horsemanship Workshop has been set for May 21st. This is exclusive to members of our endurance team. This is one of the benefits of riding on our team!!! I want to keep the numbers small so that each person gets individual attention. Topics will be: AERC Rules - Everyone should have a rule book! There will be some basic rules and a quiz to be covered. We will review showing for Best Condtion (everyone needs to be practicing!) Our 3rd to...pic will be with a guest speaker.... and that will be announced when finalized! That being said - would there be interest for an open basic Horsemanship Workshop as well? Open to everyone?

Have you been patiently waiting to get your child started in riding lessons? Well the time is almost here! Starting the second week in May we will be able to take on more students and start beginners with their private lessons! We have contacted everyone on the waiting list. Please contact Sam to get on the schedule asap as even with the addition of two new instructors, spots will fill fast!!!! (530) 863-7673. IN ADDITION, we will be able to accommodate a couple of horses for trail training or conditioning during the summer months with the addition of more staff. This can be for just regular trail riding or conditioning your horse for any level of endurance, whether it be LDs or Tevis.

We have been getting a lot of requests for lessons lately- YES we are accepting new students!! We use a scheduling app and absolutely love it, it makes it so you can schedule what is convenient for you. We ask that all beginners start with private lessons until they can walk, trot and steer safely, then feel free to join a group!! https://craterhillequestrian.as.me/

We want to welcome all The riders in the west region, that have waited so long for a California ride, to camp far west. By attending this event you agree to b...e kind, considerate and respectful to all participants before, during and after the ride. Any displays of unkind or rude behavior will be grounds for disqualification, removal, and your entry to future rides may be refused; this includes social media. With the complications of hosting a large group of riders, we will be employing a zero tolerance policy. Actions or displays causing negativity among participants and that detract from the spirit of the event will not be tolerated. We want to encourage everyone to have a fun weekend oriented around our horses and the adventure of the trail. See more

Another fun week at Camp has wrapped up!

Today was a good reminder of why we do what we do!! This year is a little different, but we have made the best of what events we are able to attend. The morning started with the excellent news that Sam's mare, Phinomenon, completed the grueling Big Horn 100 mile ride, whom many are saying was harder than Tevis, ridden by the ultra talented Mollie Quiroz. We then moved onto the Fuzzy Wuzzy Horse Show. We are so proud of our amazing group of lesson girls who all grew leaps ...and bounds in their first show. Congratulations to Tierney Beloberk, Ryan Ellis, Ava and Stella Stilwell, and Audrey Evans on a great day. This is what it's all about. These girls all overcame obstacles and they each had a fabulous day and we absolutely cannot wait for their next show in a couple of weeks! We are so grateful to be able to work with this amazing group of kids and their awesome families. These girls are going to be some well rounded riders! See more
