I watched the final Kings game at Sleep Train Arena last night, an exciting win to close the old building. I took my 12-year-old niece Sophie to the game, her first professional basketball game. Besides her enthusiasm, one of the more moving memories in the entire sold-out arena came from the national anthem, which was sung by the fans. With simple guitar accompaniment, the pride and togetherness of the fan base, meant people singing their hearts out in a darkened arena ill...uminated only by video screen and purple glow sticks, made it the best anthem rendition I have heard live and in person. I am truly looking forward to the new Golden One Center. Sharing the excitement with 17,000 Sacramento fans is a nice way to build community. SAC RA MEN TO! SAC RA MEN TO!! See you in the fall, Kings fans. Good job, Kings staff. Last night was quite a show.

Happy April. As I sit in my car on this fine early April afternoon, stuck on the old I Street bridge (a rare swing arm bridge) I am reminded of our court system. Like this swing arm bridge, the courts are slow, and designed for less traffic. If you have to pass via that route, it takes a long time to get across the river. To all of my former clients and their families who have crossed that river with me, I hope you are enjoying the warm sunshine this day is offering.
