8 MONTHS IN THE SHELTER It’s hard to believe that 4-year-old Smokey is currently our longest resident. This handsome Pit Bull boy came to us nervous and scared due to an unstable environment. Over his 8 months with us, staff has noticed great progress in his sociability. Smokey will warm up to a new person after about 10 minutes. Once he is comfortable with you he will happily show off his playful personality and signature smile. Although he has not been tested with othe...r dogs directly, Smokey seems to tolerate/ignore other nearby dogs when a fence is separating them. He is a staff favorite who takes just a few minutes to open up to you, but once he does he is a fun, playful and loving companion.
