The San Gabriel Valley Disabilities Collaborative is hosting a Disability & Aging Resource Faire! It will take place on November 5th, 2016 from 9 AM to 2 PM at the San Gabriel Valley Service Center 1441 Santa Anita Ave. South El Monte, CA 91733.
Parents Place will be having an Open House on Friday, June 24th from 4 PM to 8 PM. "Come learn about the FREE services we provide to families of children with special needs and professionals who work with the special needs population. Meet our friendly staff, enjoy food, and enter our raffle to win great prizes. Alligator Al will be here at 6:00 p.m. to entertain the children."
Service Center for Independent Life is partnering with Mt. San Antonio College to host their first annual Disability Athletics Faire. The event is only 18 days away! This is a FREE event for people of ALL ages and with ANY disability (physical, mental, etc.). We will have kayaking, rock wall climbing, martial arts, bocce ball, innertube water polo, goal ball, golf and more! A & E is partnering with Buddies International to raise awareness and encourage opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by premiering a new show following a group of seven young adults born with Down syndrome along with their family and friends in Southern California! The show premieres Tuesday, December 8th at 10 PM ET/PT.

The November SGVDC meeting had a great turn out. Our speaker, Ben Green from the American Red Cross, informed us about emergency preparedness and the steps to take to ensure the awareness and readiness of people with disabilities and seniors.
