We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Heatstroke is no joke and is dangerous for pets. Dogs have only a few sweat glands around their nose and paws and rely on panting and their environment to cool down. Breeds with shorter snouts such as Bulldogs, Frenchies, Pugs, Boston Terriers, etc. are at higher risk. Please ensure your pet has access to shade and water, and be careful of their paws on hot cement. Stay cool, everyone!

We're open to serve your pet's urgent needs -- and our Safe Visit process ensures that staff and clients are safely distanced throughout your experience! When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, simply call the hospital and let them know you're here. Your pet will be checked in at the curb -- and you'll stay safe and comfortable in your car during the visit! INFO: www.vcacovid19.com #vcacares
