Julio Rodriguez graduated from SFSU School of Art with a BA in Studio Art and Art History in 2016. Follow Julio on insta - @juliocrodriguez__ ! #Repost @rootdivision with @make_repost September is Introductions month at Root Division, and we want you to meet our Introductions 2020 Exhibiting Artists! ... Julio Rodriguez’s paintings strive to add subtle, coy and hidden art to the greyness of cityscapes. His interest in pragmatic aesthetics inform the artist’s highly ephemeral and site specific paintings, documented through photography and video. Rodriguez’s ambitious projects are formed upon a public canvas where he questions the neutrality of the built world. rootdivisiontalk.wpcomstaging.com/gallery/julio-rodriguez/ . . This week, we’ll be celebrating local exhibitions that highlight the accomplishments of six artists who currently attend or have graduated from SFSU School of Art. So excited to share some incredible art this week!
Here comes post number two for the MWG’s Summer Artist Series! Luca McGrath is an multidisciplinary artist based in the East Bay. Graduating from SFSU in Spring ‘19, McGrath has a style that’s recognizable through its whimsy, bright colors, and seemingly nonsensical design. When McGrath isn’t making art on his own, he’s collaborating with @lemonroomworldwide, or making music with @juicebumps_sf. Swipe on to see details from A Tiger Taking a Shower and more of McGrath’s work! McGrath is also participating in Young, Wet, & Wild at @hit_sf tomorrow night, June 7th! #sfsugallery #contemporaryart #sfart #installationart #sfsu #contemporarypainting
Welcome to the first post of the MWG’s Summer Artist Series! Recent SFSU graduate Richard Bond is interested in the relationships with other humans and how this connection has been disconnected with the saturation of technology. His work draws inspiration from the human body and the loss of the human connection abstracted into ceramic sculptures and works on paper. The work examines the human body as a vessel and how we are all connected through one's past experiences. Swipe... through to see samples of Bond’s work and stop by Young, Wet, & Wild on June 7th at Hit Gallery to see their work alongside other recent SFSU grads! If you’d like to have a post during the summer series, contact us in the comments or DM us! #sfsugallery #ceramics #ceramicsculpture #contemporaryart #youngartist #sfartist #sfart @sfsu_school_of_art @hit_sf @sfstatelca @richinceramics
