Dear SFOS, In case you weren't able to attend our June General Meeting with Dr Andrew Mick on Tuesday night (6/2/20), we wanted to share our thoughts on recent events. This is the statement from SFOS President Dr Lopez: "This has been a difficult week for many people. As an organization we are in solidarity with those experiencing racism and injustice including our members, staff, patients, families and communities. ... Our profession has already been dealing with the deleterious impact of COVID-19 for the past 3 months and sadly many have been further affected by events this past week. SFOS, COA, and AOA are always here to support you, but I also want to ask all of you to reach out to your colleagues and check on them, those who practice near you, other society members or classmates that you haven't seen in a while.
