Happy New Year! The hope for a better year is on everyone’s mind. Here’s to the power of collective consciousness. Last night was to be the 7th NYE at Oasis an...d our 6-year anniversary. Like most things in 2020, it didn’t look like I thought it would a year ago. The disappointments sting less after so many months of the rug being constantly pulled out from under us, but it was still one less NYE celebration that I won’t get to have in this life time one less opportunity to kiss and hug my friends, laugh and dance a bit too much, forget how many glasses of champagne I’ve had I started going through our past New Year’s Eve posters and photos from performances. I am reminded how amazing the last 6 years have been and what a true community exists in San Francisco and around Oasis. I feel extremely lucky to have been part of the creation and to have the honor to carry the torch. So many people gave their blood, sweat, tears and money to make the club a reality. It reminds me why I dug my heels in, determined to keep Oasis going through this dark time. I am incredibly grateful to my staff who worked so hard over the last eight months. And all the performers who have graced our stage. I know we’re not out of the woods yet and there are still so many hurdles to clear, but we’re going to make it, in a big part due to the folks that believe in what Oasis stands for and have been willing to take some significant risks as investors in the club during one of the craziest years of any of our lives. I raise my glass to Heklina, Greg Sottolano, Kevin DuBay, Kevin Kress & Chris Schultz, Abe Hassan, Maureen McVerry & James Wright. And thank you to everyone who has set foot inside the walls at 298 11th street over the past 6 years the building is just some walls and a roof you all make the magic!
