From Mayor London Breed : During SF's response to COVID, we've taken reopening carefully & deliberately. We’ve made tough choices. We're beginning to see an increase in cases & hospitalizations. While this is not cause to move backward, we are going to pause some of the reopening scheduled for Nov 3.... Given what we’re seeing in our numbers and across the country and the world, we want to give San Francisco Department of Public Health time to evaluate what’s happening so that we can work to stay ahead of this virus and keep our community safe. We know this virus can move fast, so we have to adjust. -- We’re pausing reopening for indoor pools, bowling alleys & locker rooms & showers at gyms. -- Indoor restaurants, movie theaters, museums, zoos, aquariums & places of worship will stay at 25% for now. -- Outdoor worship and protests will stay limited to 200 people for the time being. Businesses & activities that are currently allowed can continue operating. Some limited, lower risk activities will still move forward on Tuesday. For our full reopening timeline, go to SF.gov/reopening. We have to all keep doing our part and follow public health guidance to keep ourselves, our families, & our entire city safe. This is going to be especially important with Halloween this weekend and the election on Tuesday. In a normal year, these are times for family, for friends, and for community. But this is not a normal year -- and we can’t act like this virus is behind us. For Halloween, try alternatives like virtual costume contests, an at-home haunted house, scavenger hunts, or outdoor costume parades. Trick-or-treating is not encouraged, but we do have tips (SF.gov/HalloweenAtHome) about how to trick-or-treat safely if you choose to do it. For Election Night, virtual watch parties are safest. If you do go out, please wear your mask, keep your distance, & limit outdoor gatherings to fewer than 25 people from no more than 3 households. I know it's not easy, but we need to continue to adapt & get creative.
