Our beloved Sister James Marien Dyer died peacefully August 5, 2017 in Concord, CA. Sister James Marien was born Doreen Dyer in San Francisco to a close knit f...amily who remained a source of support and joy for each other throughout their lives. She entered Community in 1963. She remained a loyal San Francisco Giants fan even when she lived in the heart of Dodger Country. Sister’s ministerial years were dedicated to education at all levels from grade school through college. She served at Mount St Mary’s University from 1982-2001. Until she was admitted to the hospital last week, she was principal of St Francis of Assisi School in Concord, CA. Sister was noted for her gifts of conversation, her ability to laugh easily and heartily and generous sharing of her many talents. Her sense of humor could relieve tense moments and help keep a meeting on track. Her presence will be missed among us as we remember a beautifully gifted CSJ.
